The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has reopened its portal for the submission of the List of Candidates (LOC) for the upcoming Class 10 and 12 board examinations of 2026. After the initial deadline of September 30, 2025, passed for submissions without a late fee, the portal is now active from October 3 to October 11, 2025, specifically for institutions that need to make late submissions with an additional fee. 

Schools are strongly advised not to wait until the last minute; the LOC is a crucial component for exam registration, admit card issuance, and final certification. Institutions opting for challan-based payments should note that their late submission window is even narrower, open only until October 8, 2025. Any missed deadlines or errors in candidate details can significantly impact a student's ability to sit for the exams or receive their results. 

 

Importance of Adhering to the LOC Guidelines 

The LOC data submission process is fundamental to CBSE’s board exam ecosystem. Schools must ensure that each student’s information—like demographic data and subject choices—is completely accurate and up to date before finalizing the submission. This information feeds into exam logistics, from seating plans to issuing migration certificates for Class 12. CBSE’s new two-board exam policy for Class 10 means that all students must be accounted for in both phases, further raising the stakes for timely and error-free submission. 

CBSE has also issued updated instructions regarding APAAR ID linking for students and introduced data verification and portals for CWSN (Children With Special Needs) candidates. These initiatives help maintain the integrity of the examination process and reduce the risk of discrepancies that could disadvantage students.
